Alrighty, so today's my Textured Friday, and I decided to wear Zoya London. I don't think I had yet to use this as a whole mani, plus it's just such a pretty grey. I would to now find a creme polish in this color. Three coats for this mani and done :)
Yesterday, I ended up with a more subtle than intended look. It started with 2 coats of Morgan Taylor's No Way Rose, which you can prolly figure is a rose gold. Topped with Seche and let dry for about five minutes, then I added a coat of Haute Metal Crackle from China Glaze. Another coat of Seche and finished.

Yesterday, I gave an untried Crackle a try. My base was three coats of OPI's You're Such a Budapest topped with Seche. Over that, I layered a coat of China Glaze's Crackle Glaze in Crushed Candy. I had picked that up months and months ago on clearance, but never got around to using it. I actually really like this color combo :) Topped with Seche to keep it shiney.
Today's Texture Friday featured the last untried of the Brazil Liquid Sands, A Little Rainforest. I needed three coats for opacity and let that dry completely. I stamped over that, using OPI's Push and Shove (great for stamping) and Messy Mansion MM21.

I've always liked the look of bright/neon polish with white Shatters/Crackles layered over them. I have done it before, but not in quite a while.
I started with a base of China Glaze's White on White, one coat. Over that went 3 coats of Splish Splash, also from China Glaze. I could have done with just two coats, but a third looked much better. Over that went Seche, a coat of Lightning Bolt, and another coat of Seche.

Today called for a pink mani, but I didn't have a lot time to do any nail art. I chose instead to use one of my China Glaze Crackles. My base was 2 coats of China Glaze's Dandy Lyin' Around followed by a coat of Seche. After giving it a good shake, I applied Haute Metal a little thick so it would crackle in big pieces. Topped it off with Seche.
I keep forgetting I have a bunch of China Glaze Crackles :P I need to see about them more lol.

So, about a week and half ago, I was at Macy's to buy Clinique's makeup remover (which is freakin' awesome, btw!), and went to browse the handbags. Bad move, lol; I could have taken them all home xD Anyways, in the clearance bin, I found these gorgeous, neon colored clutches, which really surprised me. Long story short, I got a coupon and went bag for the clutch; I ended up with neon pink.
And it's decent size!! This new clutch is bigger than the mint one I got at Target O.o Unreal.
Turns out, I have a color to match the neon pink clutch, China Glaze's Pink Voltage. The bag has a textured feel to it, so I decided to sponge the pink over China Glaze's Lightning Bolt, like I did last week, just the pink though. I really like how this came out. It's a little hard to tell in my pics, but in most lights, it actually looks like I have two colors, not one, sponged on. What it is, is the blue flash that Pink Voltage has over the areas that don't have the Crackle. It looked cool :)
And for fun, I added two pics of my new clutch. One is without a flash, the other is with a flash.

Good morning! Sorry didn't post yesterday's mani up last night. I had gotten a rather dubious surprise and I'm still trying to process it.
Anyways. So, the weather here is still very blah with more rain predicted. I felt the need to at least have something bright and pretty on my nails. Last weekend I picked up Splish Splash from China Glaze at Sally's. This is a pretty shade of blue. I had seen on another blog, don't recall who's right now, saying the Splish Splash is a lighter version of Frost Bite. I don't totally agree with that, as SS has its own magic.
Like most other neons I own, it has a slight shimmer in that's evident in the bottle and translates to the nail. It does dry matte, but not as matte as some neons. And, unlike my others, it was opaque in 2 coats. Nearly all the neons I own take at least 3 for opacity. Overall, I love this color.
So, for my mani, I applied two easy coats of Splish Splash and topped with SV, which just brought it to life. It didn't take long to dry, and once it did, I applied one coat of Lightning from China Glaze, which is one of their Crackle Glazes, and one more coat of SV.
Good morning and happy Saturday! I hope the sun is shining where you're at on this second day of June. Wow, I can't believe it's June already. That means hurricane season is upon us here in FL xD Even though, you know, we've already had two named storms lol.
Anyways!! I wanted to show y'all the mani I rocked yesterday. I meant to get it posted last night, but it had been a long week, and a pissy ass day, and I ended up going to bed early. But better today than not at all!
Yesterday's mani featured two new polishes; new to me and new, current collections. The first is my base, Maybelline's Sapphire Siren from their Color Show collection. SS is exactly that- a sapphire blue creme that tries to be a jelly with its incredible shine. I did two coats of it and was very happy with it. Staining was very minimal, which surprised me. I topped with SV and let that dry.
The second polish is Gleam me Up from China Glaze's Crackle Glitter collection. GMU is a turquoise/teal colored glitter crackle. It's no where near as opaque as it looks in the bottle, which was a teeny bit disappointing to me, but that disappeared once I saw how nice it looked over SS. I did a kind of thick coat, so it would crackle nice and topped one last time with SV. Now, being that it is glitter, GMU is a topcoat eater, so you'll want to use possibly a second coat of SV or something like Gelous to get it smooth. I only did one coat over it and really wish I had done another. Also, you will want to use acetone to take it off.

I have a special mani planned for the actual day, but am nakey right now :P Today's post will be featuring the mani I rocked yesterday, so on to it!
Most, if not all, of you have prolly seen swatch pics and the actual colors in person of The Amazing Spiderman collection from OPI that was released earlier this month. When I saw swatches myself, I was determined to at least get Shatter the Scales; I knew for a fact I didn't want Your Web or Mine? and Call me Gwen-ever, but I had mixed feelings about the other four. While I was out last weekend, I stopped in Regis to see if they had the collection yet, since JCP didn't. They did but not the Shatter. So I looked over the others, and bam! One of the colors jumped out at me.
It wasn't one the ones you would expect either. This color is one I really didn't want to like. It's so not something I would normally wear, plus there was alot of hype surrounding that kinda turned me off. But there I was, polish in hand, buying it. I'm still on the fence a little with this color but I really like with Shatter the Scales over it. What color am I talking? Well, that would Just Spotted the Lizard. Everyone's been buzzing about this one, because it's supposed to a dupe for Chanel Peridot. I don't have that, so can't tell you either way.
What I do know is, the duochrome is hard to capture on camera lol, but it does have it. Most of the time you see an old gold color, but when you go outside, you see more of the teal green flashes. The formula is a little runny, and flooded my cuticles on almost every finger. Opacity was achieved in 2 coats, but I did a third because I thought I saw some bald spots I put in. I topped with SV, added an normal thickness coat of Shatter the Scales, and topped again with SV.
Now, let me tell you about Shatter the Scales. It's not like the other Shatters that OPI released last year; it's more like Super Bass that was released with the Niki Minaj collection in January. It's more glittery and not metallic at all, but it's not the Crackle Glitters that China Glaze has out currently (one of which I have and will do soon =D). Also, I haven't seen a Shatter or Crackle in this shade of green, so it's great all around in my book.
The first two pics show JSTL as the gold color. The third captures a teeny bit of the green, and of course the last is a close up that shows how the Shatter sparkles.
Good morning! Yeah, I'd thought I'd warn my readers in case they didn't want to look at any Crackle, because that's part of today's feature. I have so many Shatters/Crackles that I'm gonna try to use one every Friday. So considered yourselves warned! Lol!
Yes, I know, many people are over it, but I am definitely not. In my opinion, it's the easiest way to do nail art. All you have to do it apply over completely dry polish and top coat. That's it. You can even apply it in different directions, like diagonally or side to side, or even in dots. It's all about how you want to wear it.
For today's feature, I started with 3 coats of China Glaze's Blue Sparrow. Now, Blue Sparrow is labeled as a neon, it even dries matte like a neon, but it isn't what I would call a neon blue. It is a pretty blue, though, with fine glitter in it that really becomes noticeable when you add a topcoat. Neons dries very quick, and this one was no exception, but I still topped it to be sure it was completely dry.
For the Crackle, I used Crushed Candy, also from China Glaze. I picked this up weeks ago at Sally's because it was on clearance along with all of last year's Crackle Glazes. So, if you're like me and still enjoy that look, check out your local Sally's and even Ulta in the clearance for them. I applied one, not too thick over BS, then topped again with Seche Vite. That's it, done!

I'll start with the mani I rocked on Friday.
As you know, I ordered and received 8 of the 12 Beach & Surf collection from Zoya. Friday, I decided I wanted to use the "oddball" of the collection, Carly. I say oddball because, out the whole collection, Carly is the darkest and the only purple. It is a beautiful grape purple foil that is truly grape colored. Carly was mostly, if not, totally opaque in one coat, but I did a second in case I had some balding. I topped it with Out the Door's Northern Lights in silver and let that dry. The NL was very subtle against Carly and difficult to capture on camera. Once that was all dry, I layered on a thick coat of China Glaze's Latticed Lilac Crackle Glaze. Yes, yes, I know; most bloggers are over the Shatter/Crackle craze, but I'm not, and I intend to use what I have lol. I used one more coat of NL and that was it for this mani.
Alright, next I'm gonna show you the mani I did for Mother's Day. This one I kept pretty simple: two coats of Zoya's Zuzu with a rose stamped in OPI's DS Fantasy using Red Angel plate 118 on accent fingers. The image didn't transfer completely on my left, so I took a close up of the right hand to show it.
I love the color of Zuzu. In my opinion, its a true seafoam green that fits perfectly with the collection it belongs to. The only complaint I have about it is, the formula is a little weird. It's thicker than I'm used to, but not too difficult to apply. Opacity was acheived in two coats.

Good afternoon! So, yeah, today's post is gonna be a big one, since it's been 10 days since the last one. BUT it also finishes up the challenge I had going, so yay me! Gotta love veing busy with family and work :P
Let's see...... I left off at "a color from your favorite collection", which was an easy pick. I think my collection, so far, is the Katy Perry collection OPI released January 2011. It's one of two or three that I actually have all the colors from. The color I chose was Not Like the Movies (duochrome version). Of course, I had to Shatter it, too. Sorry for the blurry first pic >.<

Alright, after that was "a color that is a glitter". I kept seeing people in the Face Book groups I'm in rave about Lorelei's Tiara from China Glaze, so when I saw it on clearance at Sally's, I snagged it. I didn't want to completely glitter bomb my nails, so I thought I would do glitter tips over a matte base color. For that I used Zoya Loredana matte. I'm thinking it might not have been the best idea, but it's not truly hideous either lol. The glitter tips might have looked better with a black base instead.
Next, I have for you is "a color that is pastel". One thing I don't have alot of is pastels, but I had bought Kinectic Candy from China Glaze about a month ago. Let me just say, I love this color. I don't know why, but I think of a blue mint whenever I see it. I topped it off with the scattered holo goodness that is Fairy Dust, also from China Glaze.
"A color that you used to hate but now like".......... That could only be the color green. For years, I used to refuse to wear green; my parents loved to stick me in that color, and pink, when I was a child. I didn't really start wearing green until 5 or 6 years ago. For this challenge, I picked Gaga for Green from China Glaze topped with Call me on my Cell-ry from OPI.
This next challenge was originally called "a color that you would wear at your wedding". Well, I'm already married, and I had boring French tips for it, so I changed to if I ever got married again. I would definitly chose I Vant to be A-Lone Star from OPI. It's such a pretty pale blue, you could almost call it a neutral lol.
The next two challenges I switched around to accomadate Pink Wednesday. For that, that challenge became "a color that is easy to apply". For me, the whole Zoya brand are easy to apply. For this, I chose Katy, which I just love. Again, sorry for the blurriness of the first pic.
The next challenge is one I found to be a little morbid, "a color that you would wear to your funeral". I ended up pairing Max Factor's Fantasy Fire with OPI's Blue my Mind and liked how it turned out.
The next challenge was prolly, by far, the easiest one for me to decide on, "a color that is hard to apply". Hands down, that would have to be Lemon Fizz from China Glaze. I love the color, but I absolutely hate the formula. I think for this mani I used 3 coats of Lemon Fizz under White Lightning, also from China Glaze (Crackle Glaze), and then made it all matte with Matte-ly in Love from Hard Candy. Needless to say, I was a little disappointed when I got a huge ass chip the next at work xD
Ok, on to "a color you think is sexy"! In my opinion, red polish in general is sexy. Anyone can wear red, it's just a matter of finding the right shade. This was a hard one to pick for, because I have a lot of red polish. When it came down to it, though, I picked something that fit with the warm, summerlike weather we've been having here in Florida: Zoya Sooki. I admit, I really did buy this color just for the name, but I am glad it does look good on me :P I topped Sooki with Nubar 2010. Honestly, this mani wasn't as orange my camera seemed to want it to be.
A few more to go!!! This challenge called for a color that is new. Well.......... that's a pretty wide range right now, because I had gotten alot of new polishes last month. I picked one that I got on my first trip to Ulta last month, though; it was kind of an impulse buy, but I didn't regret getting it. "It" is Grape Juice from China Glaze.
Glittering Garland from China Glaze fit the bill for "a color you didn't think you could pull off". Alot of greens have too much yellow in them to look good with my skintone. GG almost does but not quite. I pleasantly surprised at how nice it looks on me. Also, it stamps well!
Last, but not least, is "a color that matches your favorite outfit". My favorite outfit consists of a geometic blue, white, and grey skirt with a blue top. The color I picked also ties with Autism Awareness Month, which is the month of April. So, to start that off, I used Color Club's Blue-topia and stamped over it using Red Angel plate 108. I know the stamping looks a little messy, but that's not something I screwed up. I had a hard time picking up the image off the plate; it always looked like I overflowed it or something.
