Happy Friday!

Good evening and happy Friday! Woot woot!

I've got a few manis to show off tonight :) Let's start with today's Texture Friday.

I wore a new Pixie Dust today, Zoya's Lux from their Spring Magical Pixies. These pixies are rougher than the pixies they released last year. Lux doesn't see quite as rough as Cosmo and Vega, which I wore last month I believe. I applied two coats and let them dry a while before stamping. The plate was Vivid Lacquer VL 019, the colors OPI's Every Month is Oktoberfest and Pure Ice Silver Mercedes.

Thursday featured a new glitter from Candy Lacquer, Candy Confetti. I knew this glitter contained round and square glitters, but it also has heart shapes and diamonds too. Not a lot, at least not that I got onto my nails. I sponged it over 2 coats of Nails, Inc Baker Street with a coat of Seche sandwiched inbetween. I put a coat of Gelous over the glitter, then Seche.

And Wednesday....... Originally, I was going to do a bright yellow, but I got talked into doing a black and glitter mani. Rather than use two seperate polishes, I pulled out butter LONDON's The Black Knight. Yeah....... I have a seriously love/hate relationship with the polish. I love love love the color of the glitters and how it's kinda jelly like. However, I hate how it pulls away from my free edges, making it look shitty when I topcoat. It's not the topcoat doing it, it's TBK. I think the next time I wear it, it's going to be with undies -_-

I fully admit I retouched the pics just so the free edges looked decent. This is two coats, a coat of Gelous, and a coat of Seche.

The Black Knight revisited

Good morning!

After all the festive manis I've done in the last month for Christmas, I wanted to do something a little more New Year's-esque. This is the first of two manis I have planned for just this reason; the other you'll get to see either tomorrow or New Year's Eve.

As you may or may not know, I've had butter LONDON'S The Black Knight for months now and have used it only once, aside from swatching. At the time, I didn't really know about the super awesomeness of Gelous and what it does for glitter. Thus, my mani didn't look as great as some pics I had of TBK.

Now that I have Gelous and have seen what it does for glitter, I wanted to revisit TBK. I couldn't think of a better time to do so than in anticipation of New Year's. I started first with two coats of my Elmer's concotion to make removal a hell of alot easier. I let that dry completely (meaning, the glue became clear), then applied 2 coats of TBK. After that, 2 coats of Gelous, then one of Seche.

This came out so much better the second time around :)

Pink Wednesday, and sone pedi spam!

Good evening! Happy Pink Wednesday to everyone! As a bit of warning, as the title of this post says, I have some pedi spam to show you but I will save that for last :) First, though, is today's mani.

So, a few days ago, I got some new glitters in the mail, Sour Apple and Mango Madness from an older China Glaze collection. These two glitters are very like Teedage and Last Friday Night from OPI, with their thicker, colored bases and small holo glitter. From what I can tell, the two China Glaze's aren't quite as thick as the later OPIs and are more manageable. They are quite sheer even after a few coats.

Normally when I do a candy mani, I use a matching or complementary creme base. Another method is useing your jelly polish as the base, which is what I tried today. I started with 2 coats of Zoya Kate. Once dry, I layered one coat of Mango Madness, the Zoya Belle, all topped with SV. This came out more orange than I intended, but it's a pretty orange-pink color.

Ok, now for pedi spam! If you don't like looking at pedis, I suggest you stop reading!

On my last trip to Ulta, I picked my third butter LONDON, The Black Knight. I love this polish! It's a black base with multi colored glitter that's just stunning. It is, unfortunately, a topcoat eater. To cure that, I used Gelous, which I picked up at Sally's, over two coats of TBK. After that, I used SV so it would dry faster.

Lillibet's Jubilee!

Goooood morning!!

Today is the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, and in honor of this occasion, butter LONDON created polish by the name of Lillibet's Jubilee. Inspiration for the name apparently came from a childhood name used for the queen. I think it's adorable, personally :)

I managed to get in on a group order for this color when it was first released. You can order it directly from butter LONDON's website as it is readily available. I had only seen promo pics of this right when I ordered, but I wasn't disappointed at all with the color.

In my opinion, LJ is a silvery lilac, metallic polish. I'd also say it's a "cool neutral". Application was a breeze; I prolly could have gotten away with just one coat, it was the opaque, but I did two anyways. It is a very tame color for me, lol, but I like it. It's a nice change.

I did a little stamping on thumbs, the image was too big for my ring fingers, using Red Angel plate RA119 and Wet 'N Wild's Black Cream and little "gem". Everything was topped with SV.

My first butter London!

First off, good morning! Here it is, Tuesday morning and another blog post! Yay me lol!

Ok, so before I joined a few nail polish groups on FaceBook, there were so many brands that I had never heard of and was missing out on, like Zoya, Essie, and Color Club to name a few. In fact, my collection consists of mostly OPI with a few China Glaze. I had no idea what I was missing; in fact, before last month, I had never been to an Ulta. Imagine how it felt for me to walk into the one located RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY SCHOOL for the first time. I didn't get to see everything in there in the short I shopped. My second trip last weekend was longer and just as productive.

So among the brands I mentioned missing out on, I've seen lots of people talk about butter London. Me? I'd never heard of it, but the names crack me up. There's Slapper, Disco Biscuit, Knackered, The Black Knight, and Queen Vic, to name a few. Upon my second Ulta trip, I was determined to come with at least one BL. It was hard to chose, but I eventually settled on Big Smoke because it's such a unique color and there's nothing close to it in my stash.

Big Smoke is a gorgeous dark, shimmery, smoky blue with just the little hint of green in it. I ended up needing 3 coats for it, it went on much sheerer than I expected. My camera wanted to make it greener than it really it is.
