Good evening!

I have this week's prompt- which is green, orange, and purple. The nail art prompt I got was water colour. All colors used are China Glaze, starting at the base of White on White. The water colour colors are all from the Ghouls Night Out collection- Lady and the Vamp, Ghostess With the Mostess, Drink up Witches, and Looking Bootiful. Matte Magic for the matte topcoat.

Some sponging

Good evening!

I wanted to get this posted before I pass out for the night; it's been a hectic week >.<

Ok, I love sponging, and I've seen some awesome manis lately with different sponging ideas. One of my Facebook friends had done one that was really pretty. She had sponged blue and green polishes over white. I loved the look so much, I wanted to try it for myself. My first attempt wasn't a huge a success, and this one is a little better. I can't seem to keep to my green and blue from blending too much =\

I started with 2 coats of Zoya Purity topped with Seche. I waited till it was dry, then took a makeup sponge and sponged on first Zoya Zuzu, then Zoya Rocky. It ended up looking more like a watercolor mani, I think, but that's ok. I stamped over it with Winstonia 112 and Zoya Trixie. It wasn't what I pictured it to be, but I like it.

Spring has sprung!

Well, at least in most of the US it finally has :P Someone told Summer to show up early here, the bitch lol.

But good evening! I have today's Stamping Sunday challenge to show you. The theme was, simply, spring colors. To me, spring colors are the first blush of colors before the rich and bold colors of summer blossom. I kept my mani pretty well with this idea.

I started with 2 coats of Zoya Purity, followed by Seche and let that dry. The next step was to create a watercolor mani using Zoya Lotus, Julie, and Zuza. By the time I was done adding the last color, my other hand  was dry enough to stamp on. I used my Apipila P.2 plate stamped with Zoya Ibiza, and topped it all with Seche. I really love how this mani turned out :)

What a busy week!

Good morning!

Sorry I haven't posted all week. I had full intentions of posting at least 2 or 3 times before today, but that just didn't happen. This week has kept me busy working and preparing for Thanksgiving, leaving me tired and not enough time to put up new posts.

So today's post is gonna be a big one. I have three manis to show you and more swatches :) Let's begin!

The first mani is the one I did up for Thanksgiving. I am extremely proud how this one turned out. It's a watercolor mani with stamping over it. My base color was 2 coats of OPI's San Tan-tonio, my watercolor colors were OPI's Flit a Bit and The "It" Color, Color Club's Rebel Spirit, and China Glaze's Winter Berry and Glittering Garland. For the stamping, I used Bundle Monster plate 05 and Red Angel plates 118 and 121 stamped in Pure Ice's Magic. I sandwiched SV between the base color and the watercolor, then topped it all off with SV.

Alrighty, next is the mani I wore on Wednesday. This is another one that I saw a friend on Face Book do. Last week, I traded for a matte polish that I've been wanting, not to just do for this mani. It went wonderfully, and I got OPI's Russian Navy Matte (now I just need the others lol!). So, I started with two coats of that and let it dry, not that it took very long. I then did flakie tips in Finger Paints Motely, and re-matte it all with Hard Candy's Matte-ly in Love.

Lastly, is Tuesday's mani, which is a quick swatch of Chanel Vendetta. This is just two easy coats topped with SV. I know it's hard to tell, but it has a subtle shimmer to it.

Now for the swatches! These are from China Glaze.

Electra Magenta- 2 coats

Sweet Hook- 3 coats

Winter Berry- 2 coats

Deviantly Daring- 2 coats

Unpredictable- 2 coats

None of these really gave me any problems, although Winter Berry was a bitch to clean up. It's red, so meh, it's gonna happen lol. Sweet Hook was the only one that needed 3 coats, but I expected that with being a light creme. Surprisingly, it wasn't horribly streaky.

That's it! I'll post more info on the swatches when I add them to proper swatch page. Laters!

Pink watercolor and more swatches

Good morning everyone!

For today's mani, I did something a little fun- a watercolor look! I've seen this done a few different ways, so there really isn't a right or wrong way to do. All you need is some acetone, a small paint brush of some kind or Q-tips, your polishes for making the watercolor look, and your nails done in your base color and topped with a thick topcoat, like Seche Vite.

I started mine with two coats of OPI's San Tan-tonio topped with SV. Yes, I know, I never browns of any kind!! I actually kind of like how this one looks on me....... For the other colors, I used Sparrow Me the Drama, Shorts Story, and Ate Berries in the Canaries, all from OPI. I poured a little of each onto a paperplate, and dunking my brush in the acetone first, I dabbed some of ABITC onto my nails. I repeated the process with SMTD, then SS, and ABITC again. After a little bit of clean, I topped again with SV and was done.

I don't think it came out too bad, but it is something I need to practise :P

Now for some swatches! These are all Zoya colors again, starting with Paloma. Paloma is a gorgeous, berry pink jelly from the Gloss collection. I adore this color and plan on using it for a jelly sammich tomorrow. I used 4 coats for this swatch, no topcoat.

Next for show, is Suri. I almost passed on this, until I saw it in person at Ulta. Suri is blue toned purple shimmer, which is unique in my stash. Most of my purples are more red toned. I even passed on the one purple in OPI's Germany collection because it's a red toned purple. But Suri I had to have. Shown is 2 coats for my swatch, no topcoat.

Lastly, I have for you Fei Fei. Fei Fei, in my opinion, is the lovechild of Crystal and Noel. It's sparkly without being too glittery, but it's not a shimmer either. I'm not sure what to call it, other than beautiful. Fei Fei is a blueish green base with the same color and gold fine glitter. I needed 3 coats for this swatch. No topcoat of course :P

Happy Wednesday!

Good evening! So, here it is, the middle of another week lol. I hope all is well for my lovely readers. I was reflecting earlier today about how last horrible last year was for me and my husband, and I realized things were so much better this year compared to last. So, I guess today, and every day really, I'm thankful that things are finally going in the right direction.

On to today's mani! It's Pink Wednesday, so of course I needed something pink to wear. It was one of those times that I just couldn't pick a color to do lol, but I did want to try something new- a watercolor mani. This is a fairly easy nail art technique that just about anyone with plenty of polish, a paintbrush, and acetone can do. So obviously I decided to do a pink watercolor mani.

I started with two coats of Pink Friday from OPI, topped it with SV, and let that dry completely. Just about every tutorial I watched recommended using a topcoat so you don't ruin your base color. Once that was dry, I added little blobs of my others, one at a time, and sort of smeared them with my brush dipped with acetone. The other colors I used were Dim Sum Plum, Kiss me on my Tulips, and In my Back Pocket from OPI, and Zoya Dita. Considering this is my first time trying this, I don't think I did too bad. Please excuse the dry cuticles; I literally took these pics 5 minutes after clean up.

Now I'd like to talk about what I had on my nails yesterday and Monday. I was faced with a dilemma Monday: I was called into work that and had naked nails. I refuse to go to work with naked nails but I was short on time. So, I thought to myself, what will dry quick and look nice? Answer: matte polish! It so happened that I picked up two matte polishes from Zoya in the last month or so, Phoebe and Loredana. Phoebe happens to be more on trend and spring like so I grabbed her and went to work.

Mind you, my only base were one coat of Nail Envy and one coat of Orly Bonder. Three coats of Phoebe later and I was off to work! I was surprised at how fast it dried, even for matte. It did take some careful applying so it didn't look too streaky, but overall I was happy with how Phoebe looked. Now, I had read some reviews that complained of horrible staining........... The only staining I had was on my right hand, around the nails but not really the nails themselves, and what little staining I had was remedied in my shower.

My other surprise was how well Phoebe well, considering I had no topcoat. My job is rough on my polished tips, and by the time I went home Monday, I had little to no wear and no chips. Even when I took it off yesterday, I still had no chips and very little wear. So yeah, I think I may get more mattes from Zoya xD Here's how Phoebe looks on me:
