40 Great Nail Art Ideas- violet
Good morning and happy Saturday!
I hope y'all are enjoying your weekend :) I don't have too much planned today, just some work around the house to be done, but tomorrow the hubs and I are going to replicas of Columbus' Nina and Pinta. I'm a little excited, as I find this kind of thing fascinating.
Alright, so, this week's 40gnai prompt was violet, and my personal prompt was to use dotting tools. What I ended up with, is similar to a mani I did quite some time ago, but I think this one turned out better. The base color is Now & Later from Fair Maiden Polish, a new to me brand that came in this month's The Holo Hookup box. Colors used for the dots were Zoya Julie and OPI Suz Skis in the Pyrenees.

Time to catch up again!
Good morning!
Boy, I'll be happy when summer comes around, and things start slowing down enough at work so I'm not so exhausted on my evenings and weekends. This snowbird season has been insane :P Because of it, I have some catching up do again, so here we go!
Yesterday was PAA Mani Monday, and the one prompt I chose to do was orange. I combined it with an IG challenge that I'm taking part in. The orange is DIFFERENT dimension Witch and Famous, which I had been wanting since I first saw it. The IG challenge prompt I combined with dotticure. I didn't do a true dotticure, but stamped it with an image from UberChic 1-03 and MdU lime. At least I kept it from looking Halloweeny or fallish!
Nothing for the weekend, and that was a good thing because I put my second Helmer together and managed to bang up my hands in doing so XD. Friday's mani has been posted already, so one to last Thursday's!
I made a decision recently to seriously work on my gradients. I have had a few turn out spectacular, but most don't. This one falls under those that don't, lol, mostly because one of my colors didn't want to build nicely. Colors used were all China Glaze- White on White, In the Near Fuchsia, and My Way or the Highway.
If My Way or the Highway had covered better, I think this would have looked nicer.
For last week's #watermarblepracticewed prompt, the prompt was incorporate dots. Easy peasy. I started with a base of China Glaze White on White. My marble was created with China Glaze colors also- Secret Peri-Wink-Le and Bahamian Escape. The dots were Boho Blues.
Okay, last Tuesday's mani combined two challenge prompt, blue and emoji, and here's what I came up with. The yellow base is Morgan Taylor Doo Wop, which wasn't too bad to work with. I only needed three coats of it for this mani. Now, the only plate I could find I have with anything close to emoji was Bundle Monster plate 304. I stamped the image in MdU sky blue.
I skipped out on doing last Monday's PAA Mani Monday prompt, and did an IG challenge prompt, in love with pink. Another gradient, this one using OPI colors- Mod About You, Suzi has a Swede Tooth, and Spare me a French Quarter?. Unfortunately, SV decided to smear or pick up color on a few nails -_-
Stamping Sunday's mani also had a gradient base that I should have left as is, because the stamping didn't show up very well. Colors used were also OPI- That's Hula-rious! and I'm sooo Swamped. The stamping image came from Loja BBF 19, stamped in MdU bones.
That Friday's mani was posted already, so on to that Thurday's! This was a combined challenge mani, prompts being magic and unicorn. The gradient I created for the base was pretty damn magical, in my opinion lol. I think it was my first time doing a holo gradient, too. The holos I used were ILNP Pixie Dust and You're my Boy, Blue. The stamped images were from Nail Ways A-NW00012 and Vivid Lacquer 019, stamped in MdU white.
The #watermarblepracticewed prompt for that week was water spotting, something I haven't been real successful with, but I decided to give it another go. That gorgeous periwinkle base is ninezero February 2016. For the spotting, I used Wet 'N Wild Black Creme.
That Tuesday, the challenge prompt I did was food I love. I love food in general, lol, but especially desserts. Specifically, my husband's cookies, so that was the inspiration for this mani. Colors used were Zoya Spencer, Taylor, and Emilia, in a Saran Wrap mani and dotting.
And, finally, something a little racy! PAA Mani Monday for that week had a dry brush prompt as one of the choices. I combined that with an IG challenge prompt of hot and spicy. My dry brush mani was created using all OPI colors-
Alpine Snow
I'm sooo Swamped
Rich Girls and Po-Boys
I Manicure for Beads
Black Onyx
The stamped images are from the naughty plate that MdU sells, stamped in MdU white.

Happy Tuesday!
Good afternoon!
I've got some new pretties to show off today! I'm just loving all the bright colors that everyone seems to be coming out with this spring and summer; I think they know what a sucker I am for them lol.
Today's mani was rather simple, but I love the color. Yellow itself is not unique to my collection, but a yellow with a turquoise shimmer is. Zoya Daisy is just that. I found the formula a little tricky to work with, I needed 4 coats for it to be even. Three might have been enough, but it's hard to tell with the lighting in my bedroom sometimes.
Yesterday was water marble day :) It came out more subtle than I intended, but it was still pretty. The colors are from China Glaze's Electric Nights collection, which I totally recommend getting as many as you can. They're gorgeous, and I love the glitters, too! I used Treble Maker and UV Meant to Be over White on White, then topped with Seche.
I actually did up this week's Stamping Sunday challenge, which was "roses aren't red.... flowers in unusual colors". I've never seen flowers in neon colors, unless they're dyed, so my base was a neon. This is Morgan Taylor's Pink Flame-ingo. It was a little streaky, but needed no white undies, so three coats was good for it. I stamped over with MdU sky blue, from her new Candy collection, and Winstonia W315. Seche to finish it.
I officially have no more new textured polishes :( Instead of a true textured polish, I went with a textured look, meaning I used a Crackle! Yes, I still love them, and wish I could some neon ones for summer. For this mani, I started with a base of Color Club's Disco's not Dead, which a pretty, light yellow creme. For all it's pastel-ness, it has a decent formula, and only needed 3 coats. Seche over that, then a coat of China Glaze's Crushed Candy, another coat of Seche, and a coat of Matte Magic.
Thursday was a purple-y kind of day. Zoya Leslie was my base at three coats. Leslie is such a pretty color. Seche went over that, then it got stamped with MdU violet and FUN 14. Another coat of Seche to finish it.
This next mani is my absolute favorite in quite a while, and that's saying a lot. I only used three colors, and a glitter, three of them from the Electric Nights collection. The white base is White on White. The others are Glow With the Flow, Home Sweet House Music, and Point me to the Party. This was such a fun mani to create, and I loved it.

Evening posting!
Good evening!!
I hope everyone had a great weekend. It did nothing but rain and be miserable here alllll weekend. I did make a trip to Cosmo Prof Saturday and Publix on Sunday, but that was about it. The weather was just too yucky to be out in.
I did manage to do a mani for yesterday and for Stamping Sunday, so let's get to them! The one group I'm in that does week long challenges, the theme for this week was dotticures, stamped or not. Mine was done with a dotting tool but I don't like how it came out; my original colors were too dark.
The base color was 2 coats of Zoya Mira. The first set of dots were Zoya Kelly, which didn't show up very well, so I added dots in Zoya Dove. These were only on my thumbs and ring finger. Those fingers only got matted with Morgan Taylor's Matte's a Wrap.
See? You can't hardly tell the dots in Kelly -_-
The Stamping Sunday challenge this week was using single images only, no full nail images. I wasn't really feelin' this challenge, but I half assed it anyways. I had a new Colors by Llarowe that I wanted to try :P
The base was 2 coats of The Way You Make Me Feel, from the Michael Jackson Tribute collection Colors by Llarowe. She had launched the original collection last year, and relaunched with new colors last month. This was one of the colors that caught my eye. My stamped images came from Nailways A-NW00013 and Winstonia W217, stamped in Mundo de Unas Lilac. Topped with Seche to finish it.
Now, it was really craptastic on Sunday when I took the outdoor pics, even with the flash. There are two sets, outside with the flash and inside with the flash.
Yes, that last pic is a bit blurry, but is shows the holo-ness and the sparkly-ness of the base really well.

Scales and lines and things!
Good afternoon! I hope everyone had a great weekend :) Me, not so much, but it wasn't bad either. I've got 3 manis I want to show, two of which feature new polishes.
Now, anyone that knows me, know that there are certain colors that I just avoid. Browns are some, neutrals/nudes are some, golds/bronze/copper are even more. It seems this year I'm stepping out my comfort zone, because I've bought a few golds, almost an entire collection of neutrals/nudes, and recently I picked up a copper.
Copper, to me, is fairly close to rose gold, so it honestly didn't bother me to get it; I only wish I had known about this color sooner because it's so pretty! Early last month, I came across a Zoya color that I had never seen, Tiffany. Not surprising, since I didn't start buying until 2010 or 2011, I think, and I believe Tiffany is discontinued (at least I think it is, since it's not on Zoya's site). Googled it, had to have it.
Tiffany is a coppery colored foil with a gold sparkle to it. I absolutely love. For my mani, I applied 2 coats for opacity, then topped with Seche. I stamped over it with Messy Mansion MM21 and Maybelline Bold Gold, then topped again with Seche. It reminds me of dragon scales :)
And, I don't know, my camera was being really dumb yesterday and today. Half of those pics had this weird, hazy/shadowy look to them -_-
Yesterday, I did up a bright, fun mani using all the creme colors I own from Zoya's Beach collection. On my thumbs and ring fingers, I watermarbled Reagan, Shelby, Wednesday, and Arizona over a coat of Purity. On my index fingers went Reagan, middle fingers were for Arizona, and Wednesday on the pinkies. Pinkies were dotted with Shelby. Index and middle fingers were stamped with Winstonia W106 and Mundo de Unas neon orange and fiusca. Everything was topped with Seche.
I really didn't want to take this off, I loved it so much.
I know that ^^^^ pic looks brighter than the top one. It was another victim of whatever my camera did, and I was just trying to get it show up better, that's all.
Sunday's Stamping Sunday challenge was holographic. Perfect opportunity for me to use my newest indie, Dock of the Bay from Colors by Llarowe. This polish is just all kinds of awesome! It's a nearly one coater, linear holo multichrome. And the color...... Love it!
For this mani, I applied 2 coats, even though I really could have done with just one, then topped it. Stamped over with Emily de Molly EdM 03 and Mundo de Unas black. Topped again with Seche.
Excuse the awkwardness of the poses, it's my right hand instead of my left because the stamping came out better on that hand, oddly enough.
One last thing: I have a destash sale going on right now! Check it out! Shipping with the US only at this time. Lots of discontinued OPIs and China Glazes.

A few of my favorite things......
Good afternoon!!
I hope y'all had a good weekend :) Mine was so-so, nothing really exciting to report here, unless you count a new pair of sandals and new purse as exciting lol.
Alrighty, as the title implies, I'm gonna be showing y'all a few of my favorite things, mani style, starting with today's mani. For anyone that knows me, one of my absolute favorite things in the world is mint, barely surpassing my love chocolate, and, as you prolly guessed, it's only better when it's mint and chocolate. I'm talking not just candy and food, but scents, too. So it's really no wonder that I'm been wanting to do some sort of mint chocolate mani for quite some time.
I'll be honest, I own more than one or two mint colored polishes, because they really aren't the same. The latest I picked up was Morgan Taylor's Mint Chocolate Chip, and I just knew this was the base for this mani. Application was a little better than my other mints, but still needed three coats. I added "chocolate" dots in the form of Color Club Rebel Spirit (literally the only brown I own....) and topped with Seche. Simple, yet fun and cool :) MCC isn't as blue leaning as my pics show it; the first one is actually pretty close to what it looks like.
Yesterday's mani featured three of my favorite things- Zoya, matte, and Mundo de Unas stamping polish. The base was 2 coats of Rooney from Zoya's Tickled collection, the stamping color was fiusca from MdU, and stamped image from Sugar Bubbles SB 022. Topped with Seche, matted with Morgan Taylor's Mattes a Wrap.
For Stamping Sunday, the theme was tiger nails for Global Tiger Day, which, incidentally, is today. This also featured Zoya and MdU. Base colors were Sharon and Purity, three coats each. Plates used were Sugar Bubbles SB 002, Winstonia W-03, and 63 from aliexpress (I honestly don't know what else to call this plate. Also I'm so happy to use it finally, all thanks to MdU stamping polishes!), and the stamping polish was MdU black. Topped with Seche.
This was obviously my left hand. I used the same images and colors on my right hand, I just switched the base colors around, so that Purity was the accent, and Sharon was on the rest :)

It's Friday!!
Good afternoon!! Happy Friday!!
I'm gonna try to keep this short, because I have limited time today, so here we go!
For Textured Friday, I've got one the latest Magical Pixies from Zoya, Ginni. Two coats for this mani, even though I kept thinking I should have done a third. I know it looks like I've got tip wear on a few fingers, but I don't; it's just where the base itself only covered and not any of the glitter. I hesitate to do three coats for the Magical Pixies, only because they can look "heavy" like that.
Yesterday was a simple dotticure. Base color was 2 coats of Morgan Taylor's One Cool Cat, the dots were also Morgan Taylor, Varsity Jacket Blues. Topped with Seche.
Wednesday, I did up a 50's themed mani. The base colors were both Zoya, 3 coats of Kitridge and 2 coats of Black Swan, then a coat of Seche. Stamped images were from Mo You London plates, Rebel 2 and 3, and Back to the Future 01, stamping colors were Mundo de Unas black and white. Final coat of Seche.
