Today I'm comparing two more colors that I have come across as possible dupes. They are OPI's Yoga-ta Get This Blue and Wet 'N Wild's Blue Moon from their Wild Shine line. In the bottle, you almost can't tell them apart. Take a look!
They are both dark teal blues with either a blue or green shimmer to them, depending on the light. On the nail, you really can't tell the difference. For my swatch, the OPI needed 2 coats, on my index and ring fingers, and the WNW needed three, on the other fingers.
See what I mean?! If you love the color, but don't want to pay full price for the OPI, get the WNW. It's available everywhere and is only about $2 US.

I'm sitting here watching one of my all time favorite movies, The Wizard of Oz, as I type up this post :) I love it, and haven't seen it in years, literally. I remember watching it at least once a year as a child. It's just such an awesome movie.
Anyways! On to the post. I wanted to show you all a couple of neon turquoises that I thought were the same, China Glaze's Turned Up Turquoise and Wet 'N Wild's Distant Memory from the Spoiled line.
In the bottle, they look pretty similiar. They both have a bit of shimmer, which you can't see in this pic, but it's visible on the nail.
For my swatch, I applied three coats of each, which is what was needed for opacity. You can definitely tell the difference now. Distant Memory is darker and dries to a smoother finish, whereas Turned Up Turquoise still looks streaky (although topcoat takes of that). They both dry to a satiny matte finish that needs to be topcoated so it doesn't chip; you could leave it as is, though. All neons dry to a matte finish, so these are no different. TUT is on my index and ring fingers, while DM on the other two.
My opinion: you don't need both unless you really love neon turquoises. They're just too close to justify having both in your collection.
Good evening and Happy April Fool's! Have you fallen for any pranks/jokes today? Or were you the mastermind behind one (or a few!)? I didn't pull any, but I certainly fell for one xD Needless to say, I was little embarrassed and annoyed about it, but oh, well. It was harmless lol.
Tonight's dupe post is no joke though. Up for comparison are OPI's DS Coronation and Milani's HD. Here's the bottle pic:
Just by that alone, you can tell that they are very close. Once I got them on the nails, I couldn't really tell the difference, to be honest, except for the formula. Coronation took 3 while HD needed 4 (note, this may be user error, not the fault of the polish). See for yourself. Index and ring fingers are Coronation, middle and pinky are HD, no topcoat at all. I know the third pic is blurry, but even in that one you can't see any difference between the two.
Final thought: if you can't find Coronation in your area, or you just don't want to pay the price for the DS line, I recommend getting the Milani. In addition to the silver holo, they have 3 or 4 other colors available in the 3D holo line that are very pretty. They're scattered holo, but holo nonetheless. So, at about a quarter of the price and readily available, I'd say it's a win win :)

I've decided to bring back my dupe posts, at least until I run out of dupes to post about lol.
Up for consideration tonight are two OPI colors, Wreathed in Red and I've "Red" the Script. These were both released as part of holiday collections. Both are gorgeous reds and perfect for the hoidays. Here is the bottle shot:
Wreathed in Red is on the left, I've "Red" the Script on the right. For my comparison, I applied two coats of each with no topcoat.
Again, Wreathed on the left, Script on the right.
Index and ring are Wreathed, middle and pinky are Script. Aside from the shimmer, these two are pretty much the same color. Wreathed has a red shimmer to it, while Script had blue/purple shimmer. Unless you're a red lover like me, you really don't need both of these :P

Tonight I'm going to show you a mani I loved so much, that I even matched my pedi to it. That itself is very strange, since I'm a huge advocate of not matching my mani and pedi.
I wanted to wear something a little different from the usual holiday colors of red, green, gold, and silver. Don't get me wrong, I love those colors for the holidays, but I wanted something other than. I ended up choosing pink, OPI's Show It and Glow It and Zoya's Alegra, which is a dupe for OPI's Let me Entertain You.
All I did was two coats of each, with SIAGT as accents on my thumbs and ring fingers. That way, I wasn't completely glitterbombed. I did have to use a coat of Gelous over the glitter before I topped with Seche, but it was very smooth once I did.

I know I've been a little slack in my dupe posts for the last few weeks. No excuses, other than I either forgot or was lazy xD
Today, though, I have one for you. I'm a little surprised that I don't have more silvers, to be honest. I think I love silver polish as much as, or more, than I do blues, and I'm talking true silvers. Not grey, but silver. I do have more silvers I want to compare, but they're unrelated to this post, as they're completely different. These two I'm showing you today are sparkly silvers.
Let me introduce to you today's comparison: Zoya Trixie and OPI Rinse Charming.
In the bottle, they appear to be the same thing, Trixie may be a little thinner. I also know you can stamp with both.
When I got them both on the nail, I could see the differences. For my swatches, I applied two coats of each. The first difference was obvious: Rinse Charming is practically a one coater, since it's a foil. It also dries to a more dull finish, sort of like the dull side of aluminum foil. Trixie is still rather sparkly without a topcoat, so it appears to more sparkly than Rinse Charming. Rinse Charming also has something of a texture to it when it's dry.
On the nail- index and ring are Trixie, middle and pinky are Rinse Charming.

Sorry for my absence last week. Due to my bosses' (parents) going on vacay all last week, I worked in the office and had no time whatsoever to blog. I got one mani done with pics; that's it. Anything else I did, I just wasn't able to take pics off =\ The one I did get, though, was my cute Halloween mani, which I'll show in sec :)
First up is today's Stamping Sunday challenge, which was "over a glitter base" xD Yeah..... lol. I almost didn't do it, but decided, like literally, an hour before I went to bed to do it anyways, the glitter base anyways. The stamping I did this morning.
For my glitter base, I chose my personal Absolutely Alice dupe. I applied two coats of that for opacity and topped with SV. Just one coat, surprisingly; it's not a topcoat eater. My stamping was done with Bundle Monster 320 and Color Club's Antiquated, which came out much lighter than I anticipated. It gave my mani something of a subtle look.
Now for my Halloween mani. That started with a base of Milani's White on the Spot and was let dry thoroughly before sponging with Zoya Pippa and Arizona with White on the Spot. I did two layers of sponging before I was happy with it and topped with SV. I then stamped with Bundle 306 and Wet 'N Wild's Two Weeks Sober from the Spoiled collection. Matte-ified the whole thing with Matte-ly in Love from Hard Candy.

Today I bring to you, not so much dupes, but more like two very similiar colors, Zoya Jem and OPI Diva of Geneva. Both are from last fall's collections, Smoke and Mirrors and Swiss, respectively. Now, in my bottle shot pic, they don't look all that similiar, but trust me, they are.
Both are a red violet with a bit of golden shimmer. In the bottle, it's more noticeable in Jem than Diva of Geneva, but you can still see it in Diva. Jem almost appears to be more foil like, where Diva is definitely a shimmer.
On the nail, you can really see the differences. I did two coats of each, no topcoat, Jem on index and ring fingers, Diva on the other two.
Jem is quite obviously the darker of the two, although the other similiarities are still there. Honestly, unless you're really into these kinds of reds, I would have to say you may not need both of them. Then again, I didn't either, but I just love reds :)

As promised, I have some other colors up for dupe comparison today. They be OPI's Let Me Entertain You and Zoya's Alegra. In the bottle, they look exactly the same.
Both are pink jelly bases packed microglitter. I've worn LMEY quite a bit, since I got it first. Unfortunately, it's no longer available as it was part of a holiday collection two years ago. I kind of suspected that Alegra was a dupe for LMEY when I bought it, but I wasn't positive. Once I compared them, though, it was very clear they are.
On the nail, I applied 2 coats of LMEY and 3 of Alegra, no topcoat. Index and ring fingers are LMEY, Alegra middle and little fingers. They are exactly the same, except for formula. I actually like Alegra better because it applies nicer and isn't as rough feeling as LMEY.

Ok, I promise this is the last post of this particular color group, but I had to put it out there. I never realized how many I had that were this similiar until I started putting together the dupe posts. Next week I swear will be different colors lol.
For today's post, the comparison is between Essie's Mint Candy Apple, Color Club's Bue-Ming, and China Glaze's Aquadelic. Here's the bottle pic.
On the nail were three coats of each and no topcoat. In my opinion, it looked like I was trying to do an ombre mani, since it was lightest (Essie) to darkest (ChG). There really weren't any differences between them other than that.

For today's post, I bring to you a kind of part two to my previous post about mints; except I call these colors more seafoam than mint. That's more a matter of personal opinion, though :)
I offer up for comparison OPI's Mermaid's Tears, Zoya Wednesday, Sinful Colors' Mint Apple, and China Glaze's Aquadelic. In the bottle, you can see many similiarities.
They all have that same gorgeous, seafoam green that I just love. Mint Apple is the only shimmer, the others are cremes. Mermaid's Tears is more dusty, like the rest of the colors in that particular collection. Wednesday and Aquadelic are clean; as in, they're not dusty like MT.
On the nail, you can really see how different they are. The most surprising is Wednesday; that one dries much darker than it is in the bottle. I did 3 coats of each, no topcoat. Left to right: Mermaid's Tears, Wednesday, Mint Apple, and Aquadelic.

Today I bring you more dupes of OPI's Katy Perry collection, this one being of Last Friday Night. The dupe in question is Sinful Colors' Hottie.
In the bottle, they look practically the same.
On the nail, though, not so much alike. I'm gonna be honest, here; I prefer Hottie over LFN and I'll tell you why. I've have bad luck with LFN. My bottle of it is thick and hard to work with, even after adding thinner to it. Because of this, it chips badly and fast. Hottie, on the other, is a thinner formula and easier to apply. It's also just a tad bluer and the glitter is finer than LFN's. Hottie, in my opinion, is the better value and it's still available while LFN is not. I also know some other brands have their own dupes of LFN as well.
Two coats each, no topcoat. LFN on index and ring fingers, Hottie on the other two.
