Last day of February

:(

I can't believe it's already the end of February, it just doesn't seem possible. I can say it's been an interesting 8 weeks; not great, not terrible, but somewhere in between. I'm looking forward to doing some green manis for St. Patrick's day over the next two week. Tomorrow's won't be green, but it will feature a new polish :)

I have for you today, yesterday's and Tuesday's manis. Both feature a new polish, and one a new stamping plate. Let's get started!

Y'all may be starting to realize how much I'm loving Messy Mansion's stamping plates. They're just so amazing to work with and make stamping a breeze. I picked up two of her latest plates, the St. Patrick's themed plate and the dragon plate. My husband just loves dragons, so it was pretty much a given that I get that one. I finally had the opportunity to use for yesterday's mani.

I started with a base of OPI's French Quarter for Your Thoughts at 2 coats and topped with Seche. For my dragon, I stamped it in Color Club's Beyond from the new Halo Hues collection. O.M.G. I really think I'm gonna have to get the other colors, the two I have are just so full of awesome. Take a look at the final mani!

Little black, rainbow draggies! Love it!

Ok, so, one of my biggest lemmings is Deborah Lippmann's Across the Universe. I fell in love with it when I saw featured on another blog, but I couldn't justify the price tag. I had read in the last few months that Milani's Jewel FX in Teal was something of a dupe. Sold! I got a bottle and waited for a chance to use it. I hadn't done glitter in a while, because I got glittered out over the holidays :P  What I ended up doing was a nice change from the more spring like I've been gravitating to.

I started with 2 coats of OPI's Road House Blues as my base; I don't think I topped before doing my gradient, but I'm not positive about that lol. Then I just sponged on Teal to the tips, which was a bitch to do clean up for, and topped with Seche. I only did one pass for the gradient, anything more would have made it bumpy as hell, I think.

The fun never stops

/sarcasm x.x

So, yeah. I think I've been fighting an infection, not a cold, this last week, which is fine. I can deal with that. However, pain is something I have a hard time handling. Depending on what is actually hurting, depends on my threshold. I had twisted my back at work Friday, which kept me from doing a lot things. I much better tonight than I was even last night, so I thought I'd post this last week's manis, starting with today's stamped challenge.

Now, earlier in the week, there was some mixup with the choices and the two I liked got deleted. I didn't care for the others, so just didn't vote. The winning them turned out to be "something nerdy". I drew a complete blank on  what to do, and ended up doing Betty Boop themed nails.

I had been dying to use my large plate with several Betty images....... So, I was rather disappointed when none of them would stamp. I believe they're engraved to shallow to stamp properly. I had one other plate with one Betty image, my Sugar Bubbles 002, so that's what I used instead. All the images are from that plate, stamped in OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark, over Kiss me on my Tulips and My Boyfriend Scales Walls, also from OPI. I only needed two coats of each, and everything was topped with Seche.

Friday's mani is, I think, one of manis. I am absolutely thrilled with how it turned, and it was rather simple. All the colors I used were OPI. My two base colors were You're Such a Budapest and Can't Find my Czechbook. Both colors are great for spring, but Budapest has my heart; it's the perfect periwinkle blue, much like one of my favorite gems, Tanazite.

I topped the base colors with Seche and let them dry before I taped them off and applied darker colors- Funky Dunkey and Fly. Then, over the purples, I added green dots, and added purple dots to the greens.

Wednesday's mani was very simple compared to those two. I had picked up one of Zoya's Pixiedust colors during their last promo. I bought Chyna, because it was the only real red that's been released between OPI's and Zoya's matte glitter collections. All I can say is, wow. I love Chyna! This mani was done with only two coats.

So, there you have it! I hope you enjoyed looking at these :)

Ugh.....

Hi and good evening.

I hate feeling like I'm getting sick; either get sick or don't >.< I hate this in between crap. That's why I haven't been around this last week. I just haven't had the energy to post, even though I've been going to bed early (for me).

Enough of my whining. I have two manis to show you and a bonus of one of my kittehs :) The first mani is this yesterday's Stamping Sunday challenge, which was crazy neons. This is the first time I've used a white base under any of my neons, and I have to say, I don't really notice a difference in the neon-ness. My base was one coat of Milani White on the Spot. My neons were Zoya Charisma, China Glaze's Splish Splash and Turned Up Turquoise, and Color Club's Disco Dress and All that Razz. The stamped image is from Vivid Lacquer plate 002 stamped in Konad Special White. This was all matte-ified with NYC's Matte me Crazy.

The final mani isn't as neat as I would like, but then I wasn't feeling well all weekend, and it has pretty, bright colors :)

Ok, my other mani is from Friday. The pics just don't do it justice, even with the flash, the weather was that damn gloomy Friday. My base was 3 coats of Zoya Kotori. Obviously, at least to me, I should have capped my free edges each coat, because it really looks like I didn't =\ The stamped image is from Bundle Monster 317 stamoed in Zoya Trixie. The dots are Zoya Tallulah. All topped in Seche.

And now, a pic of my sweet little, vain Tinkerbell lol.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Good evening!

I suggest if you're sick of seeing Valentine's manis, you skip this post lol.

Even though I had no special plans (stupid tax return -.-), I decided to do a mani for it. Yes, it's a bit cliche, done in red and white, but I like how it looks. I started with two coats of China Glaze's Ruby Pumps. RP is a slightly darker version of OPI's Ali's Big Break- red jelly base with ultra fine red glitter. I topped with Seche before I moved on to stamping. The plates I used were Bundle Monster's 311 and 317; each finger was a different image. My thumbs didn't out too well, but then no one really notices thumbs xD Stamping color was Wet 'N Wild French White.

A little spring green

Good evening!

I know for many of you, spring is a far off thought, something to keep you warm through all the snow and nastiness of winter. Much to my (allergies) dismay, spring has definitely sprung early here, regardless of this weekend's chilly forecast. For this rather unseasonably, and unreasonably lol, warm weather, I wanted to do something spring like on my nails. Enter in one of my latest Zoyas, Ivanka.

Ivanka is a gorgeous, green foil that has a teeny bit of blue undertones and flashes of gold. I truly have nothing like it in my collection, and wish I hadn't held out so long getting it. For my mani, I did two coats of Ivanka; I really could have with a third because two looks a little sheer in bright sunlight. It is wonderfully sparkly, though :)

Stamping Sunday and few others

Good evening!

Boy, it's been a busy week. Mostly, it was just work, but sometimes, that's enough lol. I have a few manis to show you, starting with today's Stamping Sunday.

The theme for today was, of course, Valentine's day. Not that anyone won't be doing one on Valentine's, right? Lol. The colors I used  for mine, I haven't seen used by anyone else. I started with a base of Zoya Piaf with 3 coats. Piaf was surprisingly not horribly streaky, just a bit sheer. I love how it's more a golden yellow as opposed to a lemony yellow. I topped with Seche and let it dry.

For my stamped images, I used Red Angel plates 106 and 120, stamped in Color Club's Cosmic Fate. If you don't have any of the Halo Hues from Color Club, I urge you to get them! They are so incredibly holo and stamp so nicely. I plan on purchasing more as soon as the tax return comes in :P

Friday's mani, in my opinion, was very cute. It was stamped also. My base with 2 coats of Zoya Gie Gie. Can I just say how much I love this color?! Gie Gie is a gorgeous, cherry blossom pink, a true cherry blossom pink. It's very similar to OPI's Pedal Faster Suzi!, but is lighter.  I then stamped some lips over that from Bundle Monster plate 303 in Zoya Sooki.

Alrighty then, Thursday's mani was relatively easy compared to those two, Wednesday's as well. Both were two coats of the base, Zoya Blu and Zuza respectively, and one of the layering color, Zoya Opal and Orly Twilight. I absolutely love how Blu/Twilight came out.

A couple stamped manis!

Good evening!

I know I haven't posted since last week. I've been a little busy and stressed out about my stupid  Jeep. I managed to get my nails all nice and pretty a few though :)

I'll start with last Friday's mani. I really love how it turned out. Base color is 2 coats of Zoya Robyn with one coat of Girly Bits' Cosmic Ocean, followed by Seche. This was the first time I've stamped butterfly wings, so it's not quite straight, but it's not horrible. The image I used is my Vivid Lacquer 002 plate and the stamping color is Zoya Ibiza. I used my dotting tools and Zoya Purity for the dots.

Now for my Stamping Sunday mani. The chosen theme was my profession; unfortunately, I don't have any plates with images for what I do. So, I decided to do my first Valentine's Day mani. Base color is 2 coats of Zoya Reagan with Zoya Purity sponged on the tips. Seche before stamping. The stamped image is from MASH 48, the color is Black Creme from Wet 'N Wild.

And now for yesterday's mani. It was another Valentine's mani, but with purple this time. Base is 2 coats of China Glaze's Sweet Hook. I was very surprised it only needed two coats, since most pastel cremes are notoriously streaky. Sweet Hook isn't, though. I topped with Seche before I stamped, so the base was dry. The stamped image is from Bundle Moster 303, the color is Chanel Vendetta. For the dots, I used my dotting tools and Zoya Carly and Suri. This mani is topped with Northern Lights.

Can I tell you how much I hate topping with Northern Lights after I stamp? I tried so hard to keep that brush off my image and it still smeared. Makes me crazy >.> Overall, though, I love how this turned out. I'll be doing at least one more Valentine's mani, I'm sure; I have one planned for that day.
