40 Great Nail Art Ideas- spring

Good morning!

Sorry for the lateness of this post. I spent most of last week fighting off a cold that literally everyone around has had for the last two months. I thought I was safe, in that I hadn't gotten it. Well, with our last cold front, it finally did. Nowhere near as bad as everyone else, but it made me very tired.

Last week's prompt for 40gnai was spring. My mani turned out more Easter-y than spring, but I really like what I did. The base was a beautiful gradient of China Glaze colors-

White on White
Sweet Hook
Dance Baby
Lemon Fizz
Fairy Dust

The stamped images were from Winstonia A Very Bunny Day, stamped in MdU black. Everything was matted with Wet 'N Wild's matte topcoat.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas- Winter

Good morning and happy Sunday!

Things have been rather crazy and stressful since Thanksgiving; I'll have a post up tomorrow with my other manis, but for today, here is yesterday's 40gnai prompt.

My mani was inspired by one done up by Narmai. The base color is Zoya Blu. Glitter gradient was done using Morgan Taylor Fame Game (China Glaze Glistening Snow dupe!!!). My snowflakes were stamped, not freehanded like hers lol, using Infinity Nails 79 and MdU white.

Whew!

It's only Wednesday, and yet the week has seemed to have gotten away from me!

Good evening!

I've had something of a wonky schedule this week, making it hard for me to post. But post I will!! I've several manis that need showing off, so let's get to it!

Today's mani was simple but sparkly. It was just two coats of OPI's Anti-Bleak and one coat of My Voice is a Little Norse, also from OPI. My Voice is a Little Norse made Anti-Bleak appear to be darker than it is, which leads me think the base it tinted (not really sure it is or not). Topped with a single coat of Seche.

I wish my pics showed how sparkly it was, but the weather was craptastic today.

Yesterday's mani was definitely more fall like. The base was a gradient created Zoya colors, Emilia, Spencer, and Chantal. The stamped image came from Messy Mansion MM23 and the stamping color was reddish from Mundo de Unas. A coat of Seche sealed it all.

Alrighty, I seem to really be getting the hang of water marbling. Monday's water marble wasn't quite what I wanted, mostly because two of the colors I wanted to use wouldn't cooperate, so I settled for just two colors. Both are from OPI, Anti-Bleak and Suzi has a Swede Tooth. I'll be honest, I freakin' love how this turned, so much so that I couldn't bring myself to stamp over it as part of a weekly challenge in one of the groups I'm in.

Water marble was created over two coats of Alpine Snow and topped with Seche.

Sunday's Stamping Sunday theme was over a purple base color. I opted for a fall color instead of a lighter purple. I chose Zoya Katharine for my base, and it took three coats for it to be even. I stamped over with Mundo de Unas light grey, the image from VL-2 from aliexpress. I wasn't very happy with how it came, I think because of the base.

A whole nother galaxy!

Happy hump day! :P

Just like many of you, I'm sure, I'm in several different nail polish/nail art groups on Face Book. A few of them do themed manis, one on a particular day, another with a whole week dedicated to it. Today's mani is for the week long mani, and the theme picked for it was galaxy manis.

Okay, something I've never done before. I've seen many gorgeous galaxy manis, but haven't really attempted it. Watched a few tutorials and felt like I grasped the concept lol. It started with a base color of Zoya Raven in 2 coats, then a coat of Seche. Using little bits of sponge, I layered Zoya's Kotori, Sailor, Yummy, and Blu, in that order, over Raven. I added "stars" in Zoya Purity. Over all that, I layered a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust, then a final coat of Seche. I'm kinda on the fence about my attempt, but hey, it was my first try. Be kind lol.

Yesterday's mani was rather simple, more of a swatching since I didn't put any nail on it. I had picked Morgan Taylor's Sarong but so Right some time ago, but had yet to wear it. I honestly don't know why I waited so long because it's a beautiful color. This was just two coats and a coat of Seche.

I skipped out on the Stamping Sunday challenge, because none of the choices interested me :P I decided to water marble with half of the new Zoya Naturel Deux collection and two from the previous Naturel collection. I'm blown away at well these marbled together. This mani lasted me until I changed it up for Sarong, and I might have gotten another day out of it too.

The colors used were Brigitte, Marney, Aubrey, Madeline, and Taylor marbled over Purity. A coat of Seche finished it. Pics are of both hands, first left, then right.

Flashback Friday!

Good afternoon and happy Friday! It's a snoozy Friday afternoon for me today lol! Had a heavier than usual lunch so now I'm ready for a nap :P

So, I have a few manis to share today, one of them being something of a flashback. I chose to wear today one of OPI's first Liquid Sand polishes, Get Your Number, which also happened to be my first texture. That, in turn, started my obsession with sparkly textured polishes. I love this one so much. Three coats for this mani.

Yesterday, I wore a new to me color that I picked up on clearance at Ulta a few weeks ago, Zoya Freja. Two coats on all fingers, then 2 coats of OPI In True Stefani Fashion on my ring and pinky fingers. All topped with Seche.

Wednesday was another day for glitter (I wore glitter a lot this week O.o). This time, it was 2 coats of Zoya Perrie, then a coat of Color Club's Love You to Pieces that I picked up months ago at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Here's a bottle shot of LYTP:

And here it is on me :)

Bubbly and lead lighting!

Good afternoon!

I've got some new colors and a new technique to share with y'all today! Yes, I'm still working through my untrieds, but it's get smaller, finally lol. Today's mani featured two of them, Zoya Stassi and Tilda.

When Zoya announced their summer collections, I knew I had to have these two colors. Tilda, especially, is unlike any other green I own. It's very yellow toned green, almost too yellow for me, but that's alright, because I got Stassi to wear over it specifically. This mani was two coats of each, which turned it into a super sparkly mani, then topped with Seche.

I'm finding the Bubbly colors look better layered over their coordinating cremes in the Tickled collection.

Now, on to the new (to me) technique, which is this month's Monthly Palette Project. The color palette we had to pick from was called "frosted summer".

Before I even read what technique we were to use, I knew these were to be jelly colors, just by the pic. The technique to go with it is one that has been gaining popularity is called lead lighting. Basically, you stamp over a light colored base and fill it with jelly polishes, using a dotting tool or small brush. The effect created is to look like stained glass. At least, this is how I interpret it to be lol.

My base color was 3 coats of Zoya Purity, followed by Seche. The stamped image came from my new Sugar Bubbles plate, SB 021, and was stamped in Mundo de Unas black. I then used the following jelly/jellyish polishes:

-Zoya Paloma, Coraline, and Kate
-China Glaze Are You Jelly? and Isle See You Later!
-OPI Got a Date To-Knight, Hey! Get in Lime, and The "It" Color

Topped again with Seche. My husband said it reminded him of the Partridge Family bus lol. This was my first attempt at lead lighting.

Happy Friday!

Good afternoon!

Here we are, at the end of another week :) Do you have any weekend plans? I really don't, aside from doing my pedicure and trying (in vain) to get somewhere with my swatching lol.

Alrighty, last week I showed you the first of two textured polishes from Rimmel that I had bought at Walgreens a few weeks ago. Side note- I've only seen them at the Walgreens closest to my house. I have not seen them at the store literally across the street from my work, and I haven't gone to others to see if they have them.

Today I'm showing you Sherbert Sweetheart. This is a light, lemon yellow sparkly texture with a sprinkling of holo glitter. It kind of reminds of Zoya's Magical Pixies, but it's a much light look/feel. As suspected, and like Applelicious, I needed three coats for opacity.

Hmm, seems like my camera didn't want to pick the holo glitter -_- It's there, though.

Now, you can definitely see the holo-ness in yesterday's mani. I kept it pretty simple, since I was still fighting to not get sick. I paired Zoya Jesy and Alma at two coats each. I prolly should have used a third, since you can see the tips of my nails.

For Wednesday, I did some double stamping. The base coat was China Glaze's Blue Iguana at three coats, then topped with Seche. The stamped image, which are seperate on the plate (the squares and the full nail image) were from Emily de Molly EDM 03. Stamping polish used was Mundo de Unas neon green.

I can not say enough good things about Mundo de Unas stamping polishes. They are just amazing, and have picked up every image I've used them on. I should try them on some of my more fussy plates, just to see if I can. I highly encourage everyone to get their hands on MdU stamping polishes, the prices are reasonable (full size and mini options) and the shipping is very reasonable as well. I just ordered a few more earlier this week!
