Candy Mani, take two....

About a month ago, I tried a look that's been dubbed the Candy Mani. What that is, is a sorbet/jelly polish layered over a glitter. Very sparkly and pretty. Yeah, mine didn't look so nice. I gave it another go yesterday, and I think it turned out better this time. I started with 2 coats of OPI's Show it and Glow it! from the Burlesque collection. This is just pretty on its own, but a real pain to do any minor clean up around the nail. I tried, but you can still see some >.<

I then added two coats of OPI's Ya'll Come Ya Hear? from the Texas collection. The sorbets from that collection are just awesome; you can do so much with them! Topcoated with 2 coats of SV.

Pink Mani Wednesday again!

Yep, it's Wednesday, which means it's Pink Mani Day! I truly did keep this one simple, no real brainwork at all :P I started with 2 coats of OPI's Ate Berries in the Canaries. It's a gorgeous berry pink for their Spain and one of just colors I bought from it. I'm not normally a huge fan of creme polishes; when I got it, I was still wearing acrylics and I swear you could see every little scratch. But I love the color, so I stuck it out. I topcoated with SV to get it to dry fast.

I then applied one layer of China Glaze's Crackle Glaze in Cracked Concrete. Now, you know how I said last week and the week before how much I love black and pink together? Even more, I think love pink and grey. There's just something about those two together...... Anyways, next two pics are without a topcoat over the Crackle.

(Sorry for the blurriness. I took these last night after the hubby went to bed, in a not so well lit room >.>). Finally, I topcoated with Essie's Matte about You.

Black and blue all over.....

Anyone that knows me, knows just how I LOVE blue polish. I think I have more blues than any other shade, and God knows I love red too :P I saw today's color at Sally's about a month ago. It's Orly's Royal Navy. When I first picked it up, I knew I had to have. At first glance, it appears to be a gorgeous royal blue creme. Shake it up really well, and you have a turquoise shimmer. Apply it, and you realize it's more of a jelly (or sorbet) than a creme. I'll tell you, it was a pure bitch to clean up for the first two pics; I'm anticipating having blue halos for my pink mani tomorrow >.> Unlike two other jellys I have, this dried to a relatively dull finish, so I definitely recommend topcoating it. I did three coats of this color and STILL have a visible nail line on a couple nails; hence, why I call this one a jelly.

You can see what I mean about VNL, you see it on my index and middle fingers pretty well. Because of that, I added a layer of OPI's Black Shatter to cover it.

It's a beautiful color on its own, but because of that VNL, you'd either have to use a base color or shatter if VNL really bothers you.

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! My hubsand and I went to church this morning with my family, then on to Mom and Dad's where we stuffed ourselves on all the good food =D

Here is my mani in honor of today. I started with one coat of OPI's Rosy Future and I Juggle...Men topcoated with Out the Door. The first two pics are with a flash, the third is no flash with natural indoor light. I was trying to capture just how pretty I Juggle...Men is.

Then I got my scotch tape out and added colored tips. From pinky to thumb, the colors are: OPI's Rumple's Wigglin, What's With the Cat-ittude?, Go on Green, and Shorts Story, and China Glaze's Lemon Fizz. Since I love butterflies, I couldn't pass up the little butterfly...... things when I saw them at Sally's. I topcoated again with SV this time; the butterflies took 3 coats.

As a final touch, I matted the tips with Essie's Matte About You.

If you don't like looking at feet, I suggest not going any further. I gave myself a pretty decent, I think, pedicure earlier in the week. I began with two coats of OPI's Over- exposed in South Beach.

Added one coat of I Juggle...Men and topcoated with Out the Door.

It's a little hard to tell, but you can see it a bit on my big toe. Even on darker colors, IJM is hard to photograph. If you get the chance to pick it up, do so! You won't regret it.

Pink French for Pink Wednesday

That's right, it's Pink Mani Wednesday! I decided to keep it simple today and do a pink French. Unfortunately, I only have pics of the final mani because I did the base color last night and couldn't get a pic.

I started with two coats of OPI's Rosy Future. This color is perfect for doing Frenches with. It's a sheer pink with a touch of shimmer. For the tips, I used OPI's Let Me Entertain You, taping them off with Scotch tape. I had tried doing a similiar mani as this weeks ago, and it didn't turn out quite as nice lol. For a finishing touch, I free hand added a black stripe using Art Club; I got mine at Sally's. Nothing real complicated, except my tape kept peeling when I pulled it off the nail >.> I just love black and pink together, though.

Shattered Velvet

I was at Sally's over the weekend, picking up what I needed to color my hair. They were, and still are I believe, have a huge buy 2, get 1 free deal going with many items. I browsed through the polish, and while I didn't find enough to take advantage of the sale, I did find this gem. It's from Orly, which is a 3 free polish, and it's from their current spring collection I think. It's called Royal Velvet. I LOVE IT! It reminds me of OPI's Not Like the Movies, in that it appears to be colors depending on the lighting. In this, it can be prurple or blue or a cross of the two. It's just gorgeous. The first two pics are inside with a flash.

The next is outside without a flash.

Then I decided to Shatter it. Sorry for the blurriness; my camera is retarded and doesn't like taking close ups for some reason >.>

Men and donkeys......

After taking off my last mani, I notice my nails were stained a bit. I couldn't have that, so I immediately decided to cover it up with a different mani. I started off with two coats of OPI's Funky Dunkey.

Then, I added two coats of I Juggle...Men. Now, the trick to using this is either to use a topcoat that's 3 free, or if you don't have one, topcoat first, then apply IJM. This is to avoid getting squiggles in the polish; I myself had that happen the first I used IJM. Out the Door is a great 3 free topcoat and it's not very expensive!

Sorry for the blurry pics. I was trying to show how pretty this glitter is. The pic just doesn't do it justice.

Pink Mani Wednesday

I'd first read about Pink Mani Wednesday on Chloe's Nails blog. I thought it was a neat idea, even though I've never seen the movie that it inspired PMW, Mean Girls. Read about it here. I did, however, think it was a good way to also show support for breast cancer awareness research; my mother-in-law, before she died from an anorysm a few years, was a breast cancer survivor. She was a tough old broad, lol, and didn't take crap from anyone. So, in honor of her and the movie, I present to you my pink mani!

I started with OPI's The One that Got Away. This color is beautiful, period.

This is 2 coats. I probably could have done 3, but I didn't :P

I then added black tips on the mani using OPI's Black Onyx and scotch tape, and topped it off with a coat of Out the Door. I would have used SV, but mine got thick and unusable before I could get a new bottle.

Then, to give it a little more interest, I used Essie's Matte About You on the tips.

Oh, Alice.....

I must say, I really regret not getting OPI's Alice in Wonderland collection last spring. As it is, I only own Thanks so Muchness! (which I swatched last week) and Absolutely Alice. I can make a dupe of Mad as a Hatter, and have, but didn't take any pics of it (it was my mani before today's); I just felt I could have done a nicer job of it. Today's mani, though, is Absolutely Alice. There's not alot for me to say, I just love this glitter! I layered it over 2 coats of OPI's Yodel me on my Cell; Alice on its own is amazing but layered over YMOMC......Wow! It just pops. Forgive the bit of messiness, glitter is a bitch to try and clean up :P

Little bit of a brag =D

Okay, so I had posted early last week about a problem I was having with a seller about my order for OPI DS Coronation. Dunno what happened (I suspect it was delivered to the wrong person, and said person was dishonest enough to keep it instead of bringing it to me -.-) but the seller shipped out a new package which I received. YAY!

While at Trade Secret, I bought In my Back Pocket. It wasn't the color I was after, but I got it anyways. The one I wanted, well, the week before they had had one bottle left: Shorts Story. I found it on Amazon, so it was all good.

So, added to my collection were: DS Corontion, In my Back Pocket, and Shorts Story. I think DS Magic might be next; I'm having a hard time resisting it xD

I know it's early..........

But I seriously could not wait any longer to wear a red polish. I normally save at least the lighter reds in my collection until summer. However, the weather has been so hot here in Florida, I figured it was alright :)

This is OPI's Thanks so Muchness! I got this about a month ago after seeing Alice in Wonderland for the first time. I. LOVE. THIS. RED! It's right up there with I'm not Really a Waitress as far as classic reds go. Just about anyone could wear this. This was also my first time stamping. It's not perfect, but not horrible either. I used Bundle Monster plate 09 with China Glaze's Millenium for the image.

I know this is a little blurry but every pic I tried to take close up came out blurry. This was the better of a few =/

My current pedi. OPI's In my Back Pocket for the base color. After reading a few suggestions on CG's page, I topcoated that and let it dry. Then I applied CG's Lightning Bolt Crackle and topped it with Essie's Matte About You. To be honest, I'm still on the fence with this particular white "crackle". After only two uses, it must have started getting clumpy because that's how I found it this time around. It did crackle better over the topcoat, but I kinda feel I shouldn't have to that to get it to do what it's supposed to. I'm really hoping OPI's white shatter is much better.

My apologies.........

Forgive me, fellow polish addicts. It's been about a week since I last posted a mani, but I've been dealing with severe nasal allergies that caused me not to be able breathe at night, which in turn caused me not to sleep much. I did snap a pic of my last mani before taking it off.

This is two coats of OPI's DC Cherry Blossom and one of Teenage Dream. I did this mani as a way to sort of commemorate the start of the Cherry Blossom festivals. This was a very pretty combo.

My current mani started off with two coats of OPI's Black Onyx. This was a bitch to do clean up for this pic, lol.

This was completely opaque in two coats. Black Onyx looked great on its own, but I'm not quite bold enough to wear just plain black polish.

This is one coat of Midnight Blue Glitter over Black Onyx. I love this, it's such a "me" color. I think I'll be trying it over Blue My Mind next :P
