I had a rather unexpected absence from blogging the last few days. My old lappy got fried on Sunday, and while I was able to replace it yesterday, it's definitely going to change how I do a few things with regarding to editing pics and blogging. So please bear with me as I adjust. Today, though, I was able to do what I needed on my work pc :) Let's get to it!
Once again, I totally skipped over doing Stamping Sunday's challenge, and did something on my own. It started with an awesome water marble I created with 3 of Maybelline's new Bleached Neons, Ultra Violet, Citrus Collide, and Day Glow Teal. O.M.G, these are just amazing to water marble with, they spread so nice! Water marble was done over 2 coats of China Glaze's White on White. I topped with Seche and cleaned up around the nails as that dried. I stamped on top of that with MJ Jr-20 and OPI's Kiss me on my Tulips, then added another coat of Seche.

Monday featured a new (to me) matte color and one of Orly's matte Flakies. The base color is 2 coats of Sinful Colors Savage, which stains like holy hell. Savage by itself is very matte and almost neon-like, it's so vibrant. Sadly, the Green Flakie from Orly's Matte FX is not matte at all; it's not satiny either. I can't think of what to call it, except maybe it needed to be topped (like how most polish can look dull without topcoat) OR a true matte topcoat for it to be completely matte. I was really disappointed with that.
And today's mani! Three coats of China Glaze's Pink Voltage over a coat of White on White, a coat of Seche, stamped with MJ Jr-20 and OPI's AmazOn...AmazOff, and another coat of Seche. AmazOn looks more blue than green, I think, because of Pink Voltage, but trust me, that's what I used lol.

Yesterday, I gave an untried Crackle a try. My base was three coats of OPI's You're Such a Budapest topped with Seche. Over that, I layered a coat of China Glaze's Crackle Glaze in Crushed Candy. I had picked that up months and months ago on clearance, but never got around to using it. I actually really like this color combo :) Topped with Seche to keep it shiney.
Today's Texture Friday featured the last untried of the Brazil Liquid Sands, A Little Rainforest. I needed three coats for opacity and let that dry completely. I stamped over that, using OPI's Push and Shove (great for stamping) and Messy Mansion MM21.

So, I had every intention of posting manis before today; sadly, that just didn't happen. Because of that, I've got four manis to show off, including my Easter mani. Let's get started!
Sunday was, of course, Easter, and the Stamping Sunday challenge was Easter themed. I was all set to do a stamped mani for it, but I changed my mind the day before on what I wanted my base to look like. That base looked so good, to me, that I decided not to stamp over it. I created a water marble using all Zoya colors- Malia, Josie, Shelby, and Yummy, the dots being Sharon. This was done over a base of Purity and topped with Out the Door's Northern Lights.
My camera must have decided to be retarded this week, because some of my pics are kinda blurred >.< Sorry about that.
For Monday, I did a pink gradient, also using all Zoya colors- Shelby, Fergie, and Reagan. Topped with Seche.
Tuesday featured a stamped neon mani. Three coats of China Glaze's Turned Up Turquoise over White on White, a coat of Seche, Vivid Lacquer VL011, Milani Black Swift, and another coat of Seche.
And, lastly, Wednesday's mani was a bit simpler. It was two coats of OPI's Red Hot Rio (which is gorgeous, by the way!) and one coat of Snowflakes in the Air, also OPI, topped with Seche.

Today's post is a short one, featuring this month's Monthly Palette Project. Here are the colors we had to choose from:
If I remember correctly, we had to pick at least two colors, and had to water marble with them. Well, I didn't have exact colors, but I chose the closest possible. First, though, I laid down a base of Zoya Purity. My marbling colors were Zoya also, Dot, Taylor, and Alexa. All I can say is, wow, these colors really marbled well together. I added dots in Edie and topped with Seche.
Excuse the awkward looking poses. I was really trying to capture how this turned out on both hands.

Yet another busy week, and here I am with 4 manis to show you :) I'm still working through my untrieds, and this week was the neon mini set that OPI released last summer, Neon Revolution. It was their first neons, and most people were pretty excited about them. I can't honestly say I remember any reviews on them, and maybe I should have gone looking some before I bought the set.....
Right off the bat, let me just say I was extremely disappointed in all 4 colors, especially the blue. These are quite possibly the worst neons I've worked with. However, given that, I think I was able to pull off decent manis with them. My next goal will be to see if I can water marble with them, because they are definitely thin and watery enough for it.
Each of the neons were layered over the white base color that is included in the set. Also, each neon needed at least 3 coats to achieve the look I show, with the exception of Pink Outside the Box. It looked decent enough with two, thickish coats.
Monday's mani was created with Don't Say it- Yellow it! as the base. Using the Saran Wrap method, I layered Flit a Bit, The Time is Pow!, and Red Hot Rio, all OPI, over Yellow it!, and let it dry. I then stamped over that using images from Messy Mansion MM27 and Red Hot Rio and Maybelline's Bold Gold, and topped with Seche.
The pics don't do this mani justice, but I didn't have any sun that day, or most of the week, for nice outdoor pics.
Tuesday's mani used The Time is Pow!, in three thickish coats. Over that I layered Jindie Nails Megapixels, then a coat of Seche.
Wednesday featured the very disappointing Blue it Out of Proportion. Even after three, very thick coats, it was still streaky and uneven. Thankfully, I had already planned on layering Candy Lacquer Pixel Party over it. Two coats of Seche helped smooth it out.
Today's mani was with Pink Outside the Box. This one only needed two coats. Over that, I layered Salon Perfect Shocked, which I was so surprised to find at Walmart a few weeks ago. I only wonder if I'll be able to find the others too :) The pink glitters didn't show up very well against the neon, but that's all right.
